Point-of-Use Water Filter Systems

The most common point-of-use water filtration system is a faucet mounted on the sink and a cartridge filter placed in the cabinet below. The lifespan of the cartridge is determined by the amount of minerals and chemicals in the water, and the usage.

There is no indicator that reveals when a cartridge should be replaced. Follow the manufacturer's recommendations for filter changes. Note also that not changing a filter regularly can cause more problems than the filter eliminates.
